Objectives of (SAWA)
- Empower Women in Agriculture and Livestock Management to provide women farmers with the necessary training, tools, and resources to enhance their agricultural and livestock management skills, enabling them to increase productivity and sustainability on their farms.
- Improve Access to Financial Resources to help women in agriculture access financial support and credit facilities, enabling them to invest in modern farming techniques, livestock care, and agribusiness development.
- Promote Gender Equality in Agricultural Decision-Making to advocate for the inclusion of women in agricultural decision-making processes at local, regional, and national levels, ensuring that women have a voice in shaping policies that affect their livelihoods.
- Enhance Food Security to improve food security in Somalia by supporting women in adopting climate-resilient farming practices, improving crop yields, and enhancing livestock management to ensure a stable and sufficient food supply for communities.
- Create Sustainable Agricultural Practices to promote environmentally sustainable farming techniques that protect natural resources, such as water and soil, and encourage climate-smart agriculture to adapt to changing weather patterns and environmental challenges.
- Foster Rural Economic Development To boost rural economies by supporting women farmers in expanding their agribusinesses, improving access to markets, and offering entrepreneurial training that enhances their economic independence and self-sufficiency.
- Build Capacity and Awareness on Climate Change To provide training and raise awareness on the impacts of climate change on agriculture, equipping women with the knowledge and skills needed to implement adaptive practices that ensure the resilience and long-term success of their farming operations.
- Support Networking and Collaboration To create opportunities for women in agriculture to network, collaborate, and share knowledge with other farmers, organizations, and institutions, fostering a community of learning and support.
